Inside the Classroom

The academic program at Masroor Academy looks at each child holistically, as we focus on not only academic growth, but also social-emotional growth. Our intimate, personalized classroom environment is key to ensuring that our students fully grasp complex concepts and helps our students feel valued, respected and heard. We maintain a positive classroom environment so that our students are excited about coming to school and thoroughly engaged in the learning process.  With this approach, they are constantly intellectually stimulated and challenged.

 

Our general curriculum includes a variety of challenging courses that meet or exceed the Common Core State Standards. In the 2017-2018 academic year, we will be offering all grade levels from Pre-K to 3rd grade. We continue to expand our course offerings and customize our lessons according to the skill level of our students. ​In addition to Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies, we also offer Robotics, Art and language classes in Spanish and Urdu. Through a partnership with Kids Science Lab, the students also delve into inquiry-based and student-centered science learning. Moreover, we have also incorporated Islamic Studies into our curriculum. We teach the children lessons and stories from early Islamic History and they also learn Islamic prayers. The children learn how to recite the Qur’an in Arabic as well. Due to the personalized attention they receive, our students have a firm grasp of all the major academic concepts and most are operating far above-grade level.

Outside the Classroom

We believe that all learning does not belong inside the classroom. We schedule weekly field trips so that the children can explore the world around them. Our previous trips have included visiting museums, the aquarium, and the zoo. We also incorporate time for specialized instructors to join us at school and give our students fun and informative lessons. Masroor Academy adheres to a well-rounded, comprehensive and advanced curriculum.
